THE DOCUMENTARY - Directed by Julia Clifford, Co-Produced by Bob Ridgley

I would like to introduce you to The Faces of Change, a documentary of an incredible tale, a tale of action that takes a journey all the way to the Supreme Court. My father told me this story of events that turn monumental, but very few people know about it.

Twelve children ages six to seventeen and their youth leader organized one of the first sit-in demonstrations in our country, a sit-in that started the Sit-In Movement that swept across the nation. It took sixteen months before the first white man joined the black community in their fight against segregation. That first white man was Bill Clifford, my father.

Their action turned into the longest peaceful demonstration in the history of America. It began on August 19, 1958 in downtown Oklahoma City Katz Drugstore lunch counter and lasted over five and a half years. These people share love and a passion for justice that is wrapped tightly in dignity. They embody clarity, strong leadership and true dedication.

The Faces of Change uses multiple voices and first hand accounts.  Participants, the press, the police, business owners, religious leaders, legal counselors and participating organizations tell this story.

The Faces of Change is pure inspiration. This film shows where these people are today and how their stand for freedom 50 years ago affected their lives.  It honors and celebrates the power of our youth and their mentors who take a stand to create a better world.
